About the product

What exactly is extra virgin olive oil?

Oil obtained from olives by mechanical means only — no heat treatment, no solvents, no refining — that shows no sensory defect and stays within defined chemical limits, the best known being a free acidity of no more than 0.8 %. It is a legal grade, not a marketing word.

Where does Elixerra oil come from?

Tunisia, and we record the region, variety mix and harvest window for every lot. Ask us for the origin detail of any lot we offer and you will get a specific answer rather than a country name.

What is the difference between Smooth and Intense?

Variety and picking date. Smooth is Chemlali-led, picked riper, and is delicate with low bitterness. Intense is Chetoui-led, picked early, and is green, bitter and peppery. Neither is better — they suit different dishes and different shelves.

Is your oil filtered?

Yes. Unfiltered oil looks attractive but the suspended solids carry water and enzymes that shorten shelf life. For oil that has to survive shipping and months on a shelf, filtration is the right call.

What is the shelf life?

Eighteen months from bottling, unopened, stored cool and dark. Once opened, use within a couple of months. Heat and light age an oil far faster than time alone.

Buying and shipping

What is your minimum order quantity?

It varies by format and destination. Tell us what you are planning and we will give you a straight answer rather than a standard figure that may not apply to your case.

Which Incoterms do you work on?

FOB, CFR and CIF from Tunisian ports are standard. Other terms can be discussed. Always confirm duty and preference treatment with your own customs broker before pricing.

Do you offer private label?

Yes, across all retail formats — your brand, your artwork, our oil and documentation. Raise it early: European retail will normally require IFS or BRCGS certification of the packing site, and arranging that is what usually determines the timeline.

Can you supply bulk?

Yes — IBC and flexitank, and tanker subject to destination. Bulk buyers should tell us the target free acidity and polyphenol range, not just the volume.

How long does an order take?

Lead time depends on format, whether labels have to be produced, and the certification required. We will commit to a date at order confirmation, and we would rather quote a realistic one than an optimistic one.

Quality and documentation

What documentation ships with an order?

Certificate of analysis for the actual lot, certificate of origin, health or free-sale certificate where required, a packing list with lot codes per pallet, and EUR.1 on qualifying EU shipments. Traceability summaries are available on request.

Can I get a certificate of analysis before ordering?

Yes. Ask for the reference and destination and we will send the current lot analysis. If your quality team needs testing by a specific accredited laboratory, tell us at quotation stage.

Are you organic certified?

Our organic reference is produced from certified organic groves. Certificate references and scope are confirmed per campaign and per packing site — ask us for the current position for your market, and we will tell you plainly what is and is not in place.

How do I check a bottle I already have?

Read us the lot code printed on the pack. We can return the parcel origin, harvest window, mill date, analysis and filling date for that specific batch.

Practical

Can I cook with extra virgin olive oil?

Yes. Its monounsaturated fat and natural antioxidants make it more heat-stable than its reputation suggests, and it is fine for normal frying and roasting. What ruins an oil is storage — a clear bottle left next to the hob for six months does far more damage than a hot pan.

How should we store it in the warehouse?

Cool, dark, sealed, and away from anything with a strong smell — olive oil picks up odours. Avoid pallets stored against a sunlit wall or above a loading bay in summer.

Which languages do you work in?

English, French and Arabic.

Do you sell to consumers?

Not directly. Write to us and we will point you to a stockist if one exists in your market.
